Of course, they just develop the characters and set a unique tone
Spies, London, Kira, Ben, quality cinematography, a wonderful soundtrack – what could go wrong? Plus, I already know that this is my favorite genre, and I will ignore any shortcomings. But when the dialogues in Episode 1 were slow, some moments dragged on too long, and the walls with the demand for dialogue in the style of Quinten left me listless, I tried to console myself.
I was wrong
As the episodes went on, I realized that this series would not succeed. Not just disjointed, but with few or no characters that I was really interested in. To be honest, I don’t know how magic happens, but I was deeply drawn to the stories and characters in Slow Horses, The Americans, The Bureau, The Diplomat, and even The Old Man, despite all their flaws.
I’m so sad about what could have been
Add to that the lack of stakes and numerous omissions in key details, and the ratio of annoying to intriguing is too high to be enjoyable. Yes, all the basic espionage elements are present in Black Pigeons, but somehow there was no salt in the recipe, and by E03 I was already increasing the playback speed. No need to waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s the entire lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
